Celebrating the World Water Day 2012
International World Water Day is held annually on 22 March and it is focused on the importance of freshwater. It also stands for the sustainable management of freshwater resources. It was United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) who suggested to celebrate the Day of Fresh Water. This was in 1992. The United Nations General Assembly recommended its celebration on 22 March. Each year, World Water Day highlights a specific aspect of freshwater. This yeat it is focuded on water and food security.
